Changelog
New features, improvements and fixes in valueIQ, newest first.
Flagged value drivers and Source Coverage
Sep 30, 2026
Some value drivers look attractive on paper but do not hold up for a particular product or market. valueIQ now flags the ones the model advises against, and shows you which of your uploaded sources each part of a model rests on, so you can judge how well supported a number is before it reaches a buyer.
- Drivers the model advises against are flagged and start switched off, so they do not add to a model's value unless you decide to turn them on
- In the value driver review, flagged drivers sit in their own group with the reason and a suggested alternative
- A new Source Coverage view maps each part of a model to the uploaded documents it relies on
Estimates in other currencies
Sep 30, 2026
Deals rarely stay in one currency. When a customer's own figures or an industry benchmark are reported in another currency, estimates now convert them using published daily exchange rates instead of an approximate rate.
- Customer and market estimates run on a USD baseline
- Conversions use published daily exchange rates, so a converted figure can be checked against a public rate for that day
- Useful when you sell into several regions and your buyer reports in a local currency
Access and membership controls
Sep 30, 2026
Admins get more predictable control over who is in a workspace and what each person can do. Rules that used to be enforced only on screen are now enforced in the database as well, so they hold whether a change comes from the app, the API, or an MCP client.
- Removing a member is now a soft removal everywhere, including their pending invitations, instead of a hard delete
- Admins can change a pending invitation's role, persona, and deal restriction before the person accepts
- Re-adding someone who was removed earlier in the same billing cycle is only charged if their seat was not already covered
- Archive rights, the presentation lock, and which products a deal can use are enforced in the database, not only in the interface
- A role change can no longer remove a workspace's last owner
- Creating a deal that already exists no longer reruns estimation or charges credits again, and the dialog tells you the deal already exists
- Moving a deal keeps every member on it, and a viewer can no longer move one
- Creating a product or competitor now requires the matching permission
Fixes and polish, September 2026
Sep 30, 2026
A round of smaller changes that make everyday work in valueIQ steadier.
- Resending a failed chat message no longer risks replaying a different one
- vIQ no longer abandons a reply when its parts arrive out of order, and sending a message no longer produces duplicate or misleading error messages
- Browser tab titles stay put instead of flickering back to "valueIQ" after the page loads
- Brand fonts are back on signed-in pages after a typography change on the marketing site had dropped them
- Model Insights can recover a missing market variable from an earlier run, so a driver is less likely to be left without analysis
- Redoing a model now supersedes the earlier version instead of archiving it, so deals built on that version are not disturbed
- Your credit balance now shows in the main navigation, next to a new contact page
- vIQ no longer creates a value story you did not ask for when you request competitive prep
Likely range on Market Estimates
Sep 28, 2026
Market Estimates now show a likely range next to the full range, so a reviewer can see how far an estimate could stretch and where it most probably sits.
- The likely range appears alongside the existing full range on Market Estimates
- Models in the left navigation show a sign-off badge and richer tooltips, so review status is visible at a glance
Review and sign-off before AEs use a model
Sep 27, 2026
A value model now goes through a review that ends in a sign-off, and signing off is what makes the model available to AEs. It replaces the separate approve-for-AEs toggle on the model catalog, so the check and the release are the same step. The review rolled out in stages from Sep 23 and was completed on Sep 27 with the Market Estimates step.
- The review walks through four steps: solution context, market analysis, value drivers, and market estimates
- Value Engineers and sales managers see a compact insights view with validation issues, driver value ranking, sensitivity, and overlaps between products
- Sign-off covers the drivers that make up 95% of expected value and the market numbers that move it by more than 10%, and everything else is listed separately rather than hidden
- AEs and other viewers see a plain-language summary of the model with the key market numbers and the reasoning behind them
- A banner on the home page and the model catalog flags any model still waiting for sign-off, for anyone who can approve it
- Competitor models do not need sign-off
- A new AE view of the Value Model tab shows relabeled drivers, customer criteria, improvement claims, and plain-language variables, with a toggle to the detailed view
Clickable citations, cut-off detection, and a review sidebar
Sep 26, 2026
When a number in an analysis comes with a citation, you should be able to check it. Citations in Product Analysis and Market Analysis documents are now interactive, and the review screen catches analyses that were cut off before listing their sources.
- Hover a citation for a tooltip, and click it to open the cited source
- A document that cites sources but never lists them is treated as cut off: the review screen warns you and offers a one-click regenerate, and the incomplete document is not carried forward
- While you review a Product Analysis, Market Analysis, or Value Drivers document, a copilot sidebar sits beside it, labeled with the stage you are on and carrying its own attachments, and the coach reads the full document on every turn so you can ask about a specific number without leaving the page
MCP Server: same permissions as the app, richer reads, and a Claude sign-in fix
Sep 25, 2026
Your AI assistant now follows the same permission rules you do in the app, and it can see more about each model before it acts. Connecting Claude is also more reliable.
- Deals, products, and value stories follow the same permissions as the app: members limited to certain deals see only those deals, and viewers can read but not change
- Reading a model now returns its tier, its competitors, and where it stands in review, and reads can leave competitor products out
- Looking up a workspace now works for people who belong to more than one workspace, and returns its stage configuration
- Signing in with Claude now completes. If you saw an invalid_client error earlier this month, the fix shipped on Sep 24
- The sign-in approval window is 30 minutes instead of five, with a clearer message if it expires
Product Relationships
Sep 24, 2026
If you sell more than one product, two business cases can quietly claim the same savings. Product Relationships shows how the products in a workspace relate, so you can spot that overlap before it reaches a buyer.
- A relationship strip on a product's value model shows overlaps, conflicts, and complements against the other deal-ready products in the workspace
- The analysis goes down to the drivers: which drivers overlap, how their definitions differ, and what data is missing to compare them
- It appears in the AE view and in the Model Insights pane, and it is on for everyone once a workspace has more than one deal-ready product
- It shows you the overlap, and deciding what to adjust is still up to you
vIQ: updates that read the customer model, and what-ifs
Sep 21, 2026
vIQ is better at changing the right number and at answering what-if questions without overstating how sure it is.
- Updates to customer variables now see the customer model, so the Copilot matches the variable you mean instead of guessing at names that matched nothing
- A what-if or a change of scope that you direct is applied to the numbers without raising their confidence
- Fixed: an explicit null could silently drop a turn's updates or set the deal price to zero
- Chats show a live progress title while vIQ works, and the opening Deal Kickoff read no longer crowds out a direct answer or repeats itself
- Long deal conversations now show where earlier messages were summarized, and deal chats trigger summarization, which they never did before
- Answers adapt their tone and depth to your role and your experience with the methodology
MCP Server: rebuild a value model
Sep 20, 2026
Your assistant could already create and edit value models. It can now rebuild one too, which completes the model lifecycle for assistants without a trip back into the app.
- Rebuild mirrors the Recalculate action in the app
- The existing version is renamed and kept, never deleted, and a new version is created for the same product and built automatically
- The earlier version stays out of the way so it never shows up as a live alternative market segment
- Applying a patch or undoing an edit through MCP now appears in the action log like every other change
- No beta access is required
Refresh estimates without losing your edits
Sep 20, 2026
Estimates can go stale as a deal develops. Refresh estimates re-runs a deal's estimated variables so they can catch up with new information, and it leaves alone anything a customer has confirmed or a seller has edited by hand.
- A new Refresh estimates action updates the estimated variables on a deal
- Customer-confirmed and seller-edited values are never overwritten
The valueIQ Value Intelligence Maturity Model™ self-assessment is public
Sep 20, 2026
The Value Intelligence Maturity Model launched on Sep 15 with a landing page, a self-assessment, and a gated download of the full model. On Sep 20 the self-assessment became a public page that anyone can take.
- Nine questions, one per dimension, in about three minutes
- It returns a stage for every dimension, from Ad Hoc to Optimizing, and names the one sitting furthest behind
- The full model, with the five-stage detail for every dimension, is a free download
- Find it at valueiq.ai/vimm
Documentation rebuilt
Sep 15, 2026
The docs are now their own site rather than a section of the marketing site, organized around what you are trying to do.
- Guides cover setup, value models, deals, business cases, coaching, pricing intelligence, and workspace administration
- Plays walk through selling situations, such as answering "They're cheaper"
- MCP Server, API, and Changelog each have their own tab
- Search from anywhere with Ctrl or Cmd+K, and switch to dark mode
- More than 45 pages, with the original screenshots kept
Multi-year value and payback projection
Sep 14, 2026
Buyers decide on more than the first year. Deals now show a Year 1 to Year 3 projection of net value, cumulative ROI, NPV, and the month you pay back, so the conversation can move past a single annual number.
- The projection appears in a new panel in the deal view and in the Sales Deck, One Pager, and Executive Briefing value stories
- For drivers that depend on people changing how they work, adoption ramps are generated automatically, so year one is not assumed to look like year three
- You can revise a ramp by talking it through with vIQ
- A Flat badge marks multi-year drivers that still have no execution-risk ramp, added on Sep 20
Role-based onboarding
Sep 14, 2026
New users now start with a short set of questions about their role and their familiarity with the methodology, then land in a setup built for that role instead of one generic tour.
- AEs land on their own deal list, sales managers on the team Kanban board, Value Engineers in Copilot, and executives on the portfolio rollup
- If the role or setup data fails to save, the screen stays open with a retry prompt rather than moving on silently
- The role question is asked once for each workspace you join, while your experience with valueIQ and the methodology is asked once and stored on your profile
- New sellers get a short walkthrough of each product before their first deal
Deal ownership transfer
Sep 11, 2026
When a rep changes role or leaves, their deals no longer have to be recreated. An eligible manager can reassign a deal's owner from the deal page.
- Available to managers with permission to reassign deals
- The deal stays as it is, and only its owner changes
Security and account controls
Sep 11, 2026
Changes that tighten how accounts, sessions, and connections are managed.
- API keys now have bounded expirations
- Workspace idle-session timeouts are enforced
- Signing out of all devices also ends your MCP connections
- CRM credentials are encrypted with a separate key for each connection
- Admin-only MCP tools are hidden from people who are not admins
- New sign-ups from personal or disposable email domains are blocked unless the person has a pending workspace invitation, and existing accounts are not affected
Help Center search matches meaning
Sep 8, 2026
In-app Help Center search now matches the meaning of your question as well as the keywords in an article, so you can find the right answer without knowing its exact title.
- Semantic search finds the right article even when you do not use its exact wording, and falls back to keyword matching when nothing matches
- Articles about a beta feature carry a Beta badge and a short notice, and the badge disappears on its own when the feature graduates
- Search results the coach draws on only include beta features you have access to
Pipeline and Kanban are generally available
Jul 14, 2026
Pipeline and Kanban graduated from beta and are open to every workspace, so you can see all of your deals in one place and work them stage by stage.
- A full pipeline list view of your deals
- A Kanban board that moves deals through their stages
- A side panel for each deal with a value snapshot and a link into vIQ
- Open it from Pipeline in the left navigation
Value Stories v3
Jul 14, 2026
Five story formats are now in the template picker with no beta access needed, and each section of a story can be generated and regenerated on its own.
- Templates: Sales Deck, One Pager, Executive Briefing, Discovery Guide, and Co-Session Discovery Guide
- Each section generates and regenerates independently, and earlier content stays visible until the new version replaces it
- Value Confirmation: every variable carries a provenance badge, from market default through to customer-confirmed, and a pre-presentation review shows current readings next to confirmed ones
- You can see how the customer has explored the numbers you shared
- Invitations are lighter to send, resend, and delete, with a real-time notice when someone accepts
- Move or copy a product between workspaces, with a clear note on what carries over and what does not
Competitor models are generally available
Jul 14, 2026
Competitor value models graduated from beta. Attach them to a deal and compare how a buyer would value each offer, driver by driver, so you can prepare for the comparison the buyer is already making.
- Side-by-side comparison in the Competitors panel of a deal
- Open to every workspace, with no beta access needed
