Connect Windsurf

Windsurf connects to valueIQ the same way every other client does: add a remote HTTP MCP server at the valueIQ URL, then sign in through your browser the first time you use a tool.

Before you start. You need a valueIQ workspace and Windsurf installed. Windsurf's own MCP documentation is the canonical source for its menu names and config format; this page describes the pattern rather than the exact syntax.

Steps

  1. Open Windsurf's MCP settings. Find the place where Windsurf lists MCP servers and choose the option to add a new one.
  2. Add a remote HTTP server. Give it a name such as valueiq and enter the server URL:
https://mcp.valueiq.ai

There is no API key, token, client ID or secret to enter. If the form asks for one, leave it empty.

  1. Save and reload. If Windsurf asks you to refresh its server list or restart, do so.
  2. Sign in on first use. The first time you use a valueIQ tool, Windsurf opens a browser tab to authenticate via OAuth. Sign in to valueIQ and approve the connection.

Vendor syntax can change

Windsurf's MCP configuration can change between releases. If a step looks out of date, the vendor's own MCP documentation is the canonical source, and the two things that stay constant on the valueIQ side are the server URL above and OAuth sign-in on first use.

Privacy

MCP calls run with your valueIQ identity and respect the same workspace permissions as the app. You can revoke a connected client at any time from Workspace Settings → Developer.
