MCP Server overview
The valueIQ MCP Server puts your deals, value models and pricing intelligence inside the AI assistant you already use. This page covers what the server is, what it can do today, what it costs and what it will never do on its own.
Before you start. You need a valueIQ workspace (sign up at valueiq.ai/signup) and an MCP-compatible client. Setup takes a few minutes and there is no key to manage.
What it is
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard for connecting AI tools to outside systems. The valueIQ MCP Server is an HTTP server at https://mcp.valueiq.ai. Connect it once from Claude Desktop, claude.ai, Cursor, VS Code Copilot, Windsurf or ChatGPT, and your live deals, value models and pricing intelligence become context in every session. No copy-pasting between tools, no re-entering deal details.
Most MCP servers give an assistant read access to stored records. This one runs valueIQ's value methodology against your data and returns the same coaching, business cases and pricing analysis you get in the app, grounded in the deal rather than in a generic framework.
Server URL and sign-in
https://mcp.valueiq.ai
Authentication is OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. The first time you use a valueIQ tool, your client opens a browser tab. You sign in to valueIQ and approve the connection. There is no API key, no token to copy and no client ID or secret to manage.
What the connection gives you
These are the three cards shown in the in-app connection dialog.
- Coach on live deals. Ask your assistant about any deal in your workspace and get value-driven guidance.
- Pull model context. Your customer model, value drivers and KPIs become first-class context.
- Your identity, your scope. The assistant sees exactly what you see, nothing more, nothing less.
What is live today
- Read your deals and business cases.
- Generate a business case for a deal.
- Run deal coaching grounded in the deal's business case.
- Pull competitive pricing analysis.
- Create and update deals.
- Add a competitor opposition model to a deal.
- Browse workspaces, products and market benchmarks.
- Resume coaching state across turns and clients (session checkpointing).
- Update structured deal intelligence fields (goals, pain points, stakeholders and the rest of the deal context).
The same coaching engine backs the in-app Deal Copilot and the MCP connection. Every turn is saved to the deal's conversation history, so a thread you start in Claude continues in the app, and MCP actions taken from the in-app coach show up in the deal chat.
What is free and what draws credits
Reading deals, models and benchmarks, coaching, objection responses and follow-up drafts do not draw credits. Actions that create something draw from your workspace credit pool at the same rates as in the app: creating a deal costs 200 credits per month while the deal is active (this includes generating the customer model), and exporting a generated deck as PPTX or PDF costs 30 credits per download. Free workspaces include 500 credits per month. If a pipeline fails, the credits are refunded automatically.
Nothing sends or publishes on its own
A follow-up draft comes back to you for review. It is never sent. A deal update the assistant makes is the same edit you could make in the app under your own identity, and it is recorded on the deal like any other edit. The assistant does not email your buyer, publish a story or share a link unless you do it yourself.
Your identity, your scope
MCP calls run with your valueIQ identity and respect the same workspace permissions as the app. Every request is checked against your workspace's row-level security, so the assistant cannot see another account's data or anything outside your workspace scope. valueIQ does not use deal data passed through MCP connections for model training. You can revoke a connected client at any time from Workspace Settings → Developer. See Privacy and permissions.
Supported clients
Any other MCP-compatible client that supports remote HTTP servers with OAuth should work the same way: add the server URL, approve the sign-in on first use.
Tip. Once connected, start with "Pull up the [company] deal and walk me through the value breakdown." The full list of example prompts is on What you can ask.
